Unfinished Boat Projects

Hi, welcome to my auction ... Relisted due to incorrect category I bought this boat as a project and it's gone from a complete tip to a fantastic looking boat and back again! Here's the storey so I bought it with a cabin which I removed along with all the rotten wood. Stripped back the inside and out and put a new floor in and had it fibreglassed. Happy to supply the photos to the winning bidder. I went around the boat 3 times on the out side twice inside and twice on the top in hardwood.

This is still in place but has separated in a couple of places where I glued it over the top and screwed it underneath. I had a new rudder cut in stainless and I was going to put a wheel on there but it didn't work as I wanted to I changed it for a tiller. Here's the bit where it went wrong! I had an engine which came with the boat its a Yanmar single but it wasn't fitted. When I bought the boat I took the engine to a boat yard mechanic and he suggested to refurbish it which he did.

When it was ready for fitting I took the boat to the yard and as usual he got busy but not on my boat so the boat got left out side with the cover blown off and full of leaves and water. This was the start of the boat going down hill and out of my control, eventually I took it away and tried to sort it out as best as I could. Got the boat going in the water and had a fab time pottering about on the river until the engine raced and finally stopped. Took it back and again more months passed and more water damage so I took it to another mechanic and I now have clarity on what's wrong. He changed the big end bearings, piston rings, gaskets and seated something but found the rods were not sitting properly and it was causing it to leak.

That's all I know however I can ask again and get the correct terms he used, as you can probably tell I'm not a mechanic! So I give up and I've spend lots of penny trying to make a nice boat but failed miserably, I'm sure someone will make a really nice job of this, it comes with a trailer and if you want to take a look then I'm happy to show you the boat. I'm going to start the bidding at £500 as the trailer is worth it on its own, the boat has had loads done but needs to be dried out and finished. There are engines available but I've given up so I hope whoever buys it has a great time.This is going to be a 7 day auction, NO OFFERS just bid and buy. That's it!
