Skipper 17 Launching trailer Yamaha 4hp 4 stroke outboard engine Twin swing "lifting" keelI bought this boat before in November with the intention of taking up sailing, but it is proving to be rather difficult as i have to much on my plate as it is and it is unpractical for me to keep hold of it.This is a great boat for a beginner or for a Skipper 17 enthusiast.Three sails. Main sail and Jib sail and Spinnaker sail and It has a rolling boom too. There is a lot of other stuff that came with it, including fuel tank. Porter potty an lots of other stuff that kind if fills the cabin a bit.The boat is of good condition, though she as had a bit of a repair where part of the rigging fixes to the side of the cabin. The last owner fixed it with a piece of plywood to hold the rigging fixings as you can see in one of the pictures below.
It is a good repair as you can see in the pictures, but doesn't look great in my opinion, so I was going to have a simple metal plate made for the in side and then rub down the out side and jell it to make it good as new, It is not a big job and the rest of the boat is sound and she is quite sail able. There is no osmosis on this boat and i have done most of the pressure wash, so she now just needs a rub down before gel coat to finish anti-fouling. The trailer is a launching trailer and got me from Windermere to Scunthorpe, I bought new wheels and tires for it. The trailer it self and the axles are sound, but it could do with a clean up and a bit of paint. She is currently stored near Scunthorpe on my mates farm and the motor is at my place in Gateshead, Newcastle. I can bring it up to Newcastle if the Buyer wants me too, but if from the south then you will have to collect from Scunthorpe. The buyer will be responsible for the transportation of the boat. I just bought new 8 inch wheels and tires that can travel up to 60mph so it can be towed away, but i would recommend bringing another trailer to load the whole thing for transportation.
If you want me to tow it up North for you, i will go get it for you at fuel cost. Or you can just tow it at you're own risk after inspection. Like I said it got me 160 miles just taking it easy and that was before the new wheels. Pictures are from the way she was the day I picked her up and how she is now Please remember that if you bid, you are bidding to buyA £100 deposit is to be paid at the end of the auction with the rest to be paid on collection.
