Please Read Carefully! This boat is a project. It's a Van De Stadt 28 Seahorse. It has a plywood hull and I started restoration work a few years ago and have completed the vast majority of the big stuff. Most of the job left is sanding and painting.
I started to remove the interior with a view of re-designing the layout in the saloon, but could easily be just re-instated as it was, likewise not difficult to re-work with simple woodwork. The boat is sitting on a cradle, which I turned into a bogie with minibus axles. This will be included in the sale if you would like it. I have everything required (perhaps you'd need some paints and anti-foul) to complete this boat. The rig is complete, it has a wind generator, 15hp electric start Honda 4st outboard, sea toilet, sink, cooker, instruments, Autohelm, VHF, sails, sprayhood, boom tent, roller reefing kit, safety kit, anchor & chain, cushions etc. etc.
It just needs put back together! She sails so well and is lots of fun! Here's the important bit - I know how much I could sell all the equipment for separately, particularly the engine, so I'm looking for sensible offers for the lot. I would much rather sell everything together and know she'll sail again than break it up, so obviously I'm going to be realistic about the price in that case. This would suit someone with a bit of time on their hands, if I knew someone was going to complete the restoration, I'd hand over as much as possible that I have in my garage to minimise the further expense required.
The photo of her on the cradle is as she sits now, all the others are from the past when I had her operational. If you're keen on this, I'd be prepared for you to complete the underwater finishing (only) where she lies now, and launch the boat here for you to take away, but I'd like to get rid as soon as possible. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss anything about this project, I'm John on 0phone. Or get in touch through classifieds board. I can send any more pictures you would like.
Thanks for looking.
