Van De Stadt Sprinter 32 Yacht

Sprinter 32 Cruiser Racer designed by Van De Stadt and sturdily built in fibreglass by Tylers to Lloyds of London spec. Safe, fast and easily sailed, Periwinkle is currently out of the water in Gosport and can be loaded onto a trailer in situ or can easily be re-launched with the mast stepped if required. Suitable for someone looking for a cheap way to own a proper 32ft yacht with 6 berths, she can be sailed away and enjoyed immediately or would make an excellent easy spring project if desired. She has recently had a full hull clean and will be antifouled in the coming weeks. Unlike modern plastic imitations Periwinkle is solidly built and her well designed and easily driven hull with encapsulated fin keel and superb stability curve means she can be sailed fast in safety and comfort.

Periwinkle comes with several suits of sails inc 2 spinnakers, storm trysail and storm jib, 2 anchors and substantial quantities of chain, VHF radio, GPS, Navtext, log, echo sounder, nav lights, recently refurbished spray hood, full safety jackstay and responsive wheel steering. Mast, rigging, sails, sprayhood, bunk cushions etc are all in dry storage. Interior is basic but usable with masses of storage for a boat of this size. Offers potential for new owner conversion if desired but not required in order to enjoy the boat immediately. She is fitted with 2 burner hob, grill and oven, internal 12v lights, water tank and sink with hand pump, high capacity leisure battery, separate heads compartment with sea toilet, 1 hand bilge pump and 1 automatic electric bilge pump.

The unreliable Petter 12hp inboard has been removed and Periwinkle is currently running with a 9.9hp longshaft mariner outboard (astoundingly good condition!) on a lifting bracket, which provides excellent manoeuvrability in confined waters and propels the yacht happily at 6 knots. The engine bay is ready for a replacement inboard to be fitted if required with prop shaft, prop and controls still in place. All in all a lot of boat for the money, with the ability to potter around, race around the cans or indeed longer distances (Periwinkle was successfully raced in the Irish Sea offshore series for a number of years), or cruise coastal or offshore with very little effort or work and for very little money. She can be viewed in Gosport evenings/weekends by appointment and will need to be removed from her current storage within 1 month of purchase either by road or water, I can arrange the lift either in to the water or on to transport and will cover the storage costs for the month following purchase. I'm going to be disappointed to sell her but she's not getting the use she deserves and she needs to be enjoyed on the water. She sails like and dream and I have had some cracking trips in her but the time has come to accept reality!
