Welcome to the auction of our much loved early 80's Viking 23 River cruiser. I'm afraid she has been made surplus to requirement after us opting for something a little bigger and newer, however as a starter boat she has done us proud. As you will see from the images, she has had no expense spared on the internal refit, however she is due for some TLC on her exterior. She is a 4 berth family cruiser powered by a very economical and quiet 90's Honda 15hp 4 stroke petrol outboard. Supplied with a 13 litre Honda metal fuel tank she starts on the button even on the coldest of days.
Her narrow beam makes her ideal for cruising the entire canal and river network and despite her size makes for comfortable holiday cruising as well as making a very well equipped dayboat/weekender. Here are some of her features: InteriorFinished in light-oak faced marine grade ply in cockpit and cabin.Lined with beige carpet throughout cockpit and cabin.Blue fabric upholstery in cabin (removable and machine washable), blue vinyl in cockpit.Carpeted cockpit tool box and large under cockpit floor locker100W Solar Panel - always a full battery when you come to start her up.Viking Captains Seat in fetching cream and blue pipingFully lined curtains all round.Nasa Battery Monitor and shunt providing useful charge/discharge status and battery hour stats. .All 12v circuits individually wired to switches and breakers on the helm console with remote engine start:stop switches, horn and engine oil level indicator.1 x Elecsol 110A crank/leisure battery which could do with updating at some point.Rinnai in-line gas water heater - providing instant hot water to the galley sink and shower.150 litre drinking water bladder tank under forward berthWaeco 12v Fridge with small freezer compartmentThetford Oven and Grill - very little use.Thetford 3 ring hob with glass fold down lidThetford Sink and drainer with glass fold down lid and mixer tap.Double cupboard under sink and pan drawer under the ovenDouble v-berth with ample under storageDinette with under storage lockers converting to a small pull-out double (more of a large single, but fine for a couple of nippers)Hot and cold shower with mixer tap and Whale Gulper shower drain pumpThetford porta potti (this will be empty and cleaned extensively or you can opt to have us remove this and provide your own)Nav lights, horn and tunnel light tested and workingBoat Safety Certificate valid until 12th August 20222 x fire extinguishers and fire blanket2 x Calor Gas bottles and LPG bubble-tester installed in vented gas lockerLife ring and boat hookSome LED and some filament cockpit and cabin lights12v sockets everywhere - cockpit and cabinJVC CD, AM/FM and DAB radio with AUX inputs for phone/mp3 player. Both DAB and FM external antennas, Sony Marine waterproof speakers in cabin and cockpit. We didn't use a TV onboard, however the antenna and power connections are in place and a TV antenna will be supplied (not tested)Small full length wardrobe to starboard ExteriorShe was anti-fouled and polished around 4 years ago and although the anti-foul is still in OK condition she could do with being lifted in the foresee-able future for anti-fouling and a good polish. The Hull is in good condition for her age with no signs of osmosis when last anti-fouled, however there are the usual dings, scratches and fractures associated with a 35 year old boat which will polish out or fill nicely.
A weekend giving her a rub down and polish would help as would some new lines and fenders. I also purchased and will supply navy blue fender socks and some new fender lines which I didn't get round to fitting. There are also 2 new fenders on the boat ready to be hung by the new owners. The blue vinyl canopy is not new, however it does keep rain water out of the cockpit perfectly fine. It could benefit from the odd bit of re-stitching here and there, but is fully functional, sound and presentable.
Again, some TLC would have it looking spanking. The outboard engine was serviced around 2 years ago, however has not been used much since apart from the occasional start-up and the odd afternoon trip up the river Worth a service when next the boat comes out of the water, but quite easy to service yourself if you possess a bit of technical know-how. CollectionBuyer to arrange collection/transport from Leicester. The current marina has an easily accessible slipway and I can recommend a very reliable boat transport firm should you require this. The boat is not supplied with a mooring.
Payment on or prior to collection in cash or bank transfer please. Please do drop us a message to arrange to view, ask any questions or request additional photographs. Please do not visit the boat without prior arrangement with me as the marina do not have the keys or knowledge of the boat. This is being sold privately and not on the marina brokerage. Happy Bidding!
