2002 Viking Carrera Bowrider with 90HP Mercury Outboard & Trailer Please read the whole description to save any wasted time. This stunning boat is perfect for anyone who is looking to get out on the water, whether youre new to the game or not. I have owned it for just over a year and it has taken me and my children all over the solent with no issues at all. The boat has been kept in a drystack so its not exposed to the salt water. Always flushed out after use.
The Viking Carrera is quite rare in the UK as they were originally manufactured in South Africa, I always get comments on howits such a nice looking boat. There are many boats for sale that have either been purchased for a season of fun and/or had little maintance carried out, which will result in extra money being spent. This is NOT one of them boats. Since owning the boat I have carried out the following (which previous owners did not): Repaired Ski HatchInstalled the correct low profile fuel tank (Previous owner rammed large tank in and had to remove the ski pole)Installed a Deck Filler Installed top of the range Cleats (The boat had no Cleats)Installed Anchor RollerInstalled Fuel Level Gauge (Needs to be wired)Sealed the outboard bolts (Not sealed or even tightened up, letting water in!) Serviced the Mercury Outboard - Rough idle due to a few perished electrical terminals, also carbs werent dialled in and were running too rich.
General Condition This boat is now 20 years old, its not pristine but it is a very well looked after example as you can see from the images and has had lots of care. The seats are seeing some age now, but they are still in good condition and do the job.The hull is pretty clean, no cracks or anything alarming.Carpet is clean inside, gel coat is clean and bright. 2002 Mercury 90HP 2 Stroke Massive fan of these engines since owning it, it has never let me down and performs brilliantly. The last of the Mercury 2 Stroke engines were released around 2002 and for good reason. Pumps water very well and hard and often starts on the button.
Doesnt smoke too bad for a 2 stroke either! Being an Auto Lube, just keep it topped up with 2 Stroke Oil and youre good to go - Ideally something like Yamlube.Engine will push the boat to 40MPH quite easily, trimmed and on a flat calm day youll likely see 45 - 50MPH. (Which is more than enough for this boat)Engine will ideally need a service end of the season, you can buy the whole service kit on classifieds board for around £90 (If youre mechanically minded) I have completed faith in this boat and engine, which has seen me take my 2 young children over to the isle of wight many times. Currently the boat is still in Gosport Premier Dry Stack until August 1st. If the boat does not sell by the 1st of August, I will keep it.
I am in no need to sell, I just want to get something bigger. I am not open to offers, swaps or anything like that. Genuine sale, genuine seller. This boat is great fun and everyone should have a boat in their life :) No test pilots, but the boat will be readily available for viewing and I am happy to take people out who are serious about buying. Location PO12 - Gosport, Hampshire.
