Vintage Classic River/harbour/fishing Day Boat & Trailer

Classic Vintage Day boat with trailer - strip-planked mahogany decking reminds me of 'Chitty Chitty bang bang' (it also sounds like it), and the kids will love the mini bow area. It will turn everyones head as it motors past them or just is going to be the most halcyon memories you couldnt dream of, its so photogenic! Seasoned boatbuilders can see that this was probably restored about 20 years ago, from an original vintage mahogany 'Thames motor boat' Circa 1930? - the entire mahogany/oak superstructure was preserved while the rotten hull was replaced with a modern fibre-glass plywood composite hull(much stronger and lighter) also the original 'stuart turner' engine was updated to the more powerful, electric start vire 6hp at the same time. The original bronze propshaft and prop remain.
The boat is in great condition for its age, and its main attraction is it's classic character another surprising benefit is the low-cost storage via its easy-launch/recover customised road trailer, so you dont have to pay for a mooring/insurance/hard-standing and lunching fees.(which can easily cost £1-2k p.a.) you simply need a parking space near home. This also makes it convenient and fun to do any work on it at home instead of paying contractors in a yard. There is a silver rain/sun cover included that is neat and easy. And 'tent' poles to make a ridge so the rain runs off the cover. Also included is a toolbox, petrol(fuelled up and ready to start), oil, some oars, new engine battery and a towing light bar/cable which clips on in seconds.
You can even run this engine safely out of the water for a few minutes as it has a bronze pump that wont burn out like modern rubber ones do, so i can demonstrate starting and running easily. Some of the panelling wood is showing its age and the bilge-ribs a bit soft(all covered in solid mahogany floorboards anyway), i guess were not renewed as they enhance the vintage, but the structural and weight-bearing parts are sound. Since its now housed in a super-strong composite hull there is peace of mind. You just cannot buy a new boat like this today, mahogany is a protected-species, and modern boats fake it with laminates over cheap woods or MDF, never solid planks and parts like this has - everywhere! I have been out in this boat many day trips, in the harbour, behaved well, and i know it was sat in the Thames many years only taking in rainwater, there are many peculiar things to learn for example the wooden dipstick for the brass fuel tank, and the way it self-guides between fenders, floating back onto the trailer, or the brass shark that screw onto the rudder we dont know why or when, its full of fascinating peculiarities, honestly i thought it should be named "Chitty Chitty Boat Bang" or something, its such an enigma it is one of a kind, and i hope it finds another enthusiastic owner now.
