Vintage Sailing Boat - 23 Foot

Welcome to the listing for a vintage 1960's sailing boat, named Dulcibella (inspired from the sailing boat from the Erskine Childers novel ‘the Riddle of the Sands’). The boat measures approx. 23 feet from bow to rudder. I have owned this beautiful boat now for approx. Six years and when I purchased it the information passed to me from the previous owner was that it was hand built on the Isle of Wight in the mid 1960’s.

The construction is marine ply and resin with wooden internal ribs and beams. The keel features an adjustable centre board, which can be raised and lowered from the deck. It is two birth with twin gas cooker and sea toilet. The boat comes complete with boom and mast and sails. There are numerous storage compartments in the cabin under the seating area and also under the seating area on the rear deck.

Access to the cabin is via removable door and sliding hatch at the rear and access hatch on the bow. The boat is in very good condition throughout, some small patches of anti-slip deck paint have come off so ideally a fresh coat of anti-slip deck paint would be beneficial, hull paint above and below the water line is in very good order. The rudder is tiller operated and operates freely. The trailer is supplied with the boat; this is an Indespension Super Rollercoaster 7 twin axle braked trailer. It is extremely well made and heavy duty, the value of the trailer alone is approx. £2500.

It has been recently serviced with fresh moly slip grease to the bearings and 4 new commercial specification tyres. The boat is secured onto a custom made wooden cradle; it is also supplied with a heavy duty vinyl cover which covers the entire upper half of the boat (see last image). The rear deck area features an in hull engine mount so you can mount a small outboard engine. Controls and equipment fitted to the boat include wooden tiller, compass, depth sounder and knot meter. The cabin features 12 volt lighting.

An integral fresh water storage tank is also fitted. The boat has so much character and detail and truly is a one off; this is a very reluctant sale due to upcoming house move so please only serious bidders and sensible offers only. The boat is collection only; you will need to bring a trailer light board and sufficient cable. Please also bring a suitable vehicle for towing. I would estimate that the combined weight of boat and trailer to be approx.
