Virus Yole Class Rowing Boat Skiff

Virus Yole Class Rowing Boat Skiff designed in 1993. Age of this boat is unknown but certainly in good condition. The Virus Yole come is two models either the Fibreglass Class model which this is or the plastic Club model. The Fibreglass Class Yole is much lighter at 42kgs compared to the plastic Club model at 60kgs. The fibreglass Class model stays cleaner and holds its value better than the Club model.

Excellent boat for open water and they have made some impressive voyages. Can be used as a single or double rower with 2 pairs of matching oars and outriggers. Two sliding seats. Original design road trailer sold by Virus Boats with new wheels and tyres and new suspension bearings at a cost of £252.36 by Indespension in November 2017 and only used for 10 miles. Great trailer and no worries towing any distance.

You will need your own straps and tailboard to take away. Easy and light boat to tow. Purpose designed and well built trolley for this yole that straps on at just past mid ships and can be taken to bits and easily stored on the boat if you are coastal cruising or on an expedition allowing you to take the boat above high water line etc. Also makes launching easy rather than using the road trailer. Generally in great condition and can be used straightaway although i think the two plastic hatches could do with being unscrewed and resealed with mastic sealant.

Being sold due to lack of use but excellent boat to keep fit and get out on the water whether that be the sea, lake, loch, canal or river. The boat is based in Edinburgh and I would be happy to show it to you prior to auction end. If you have any questions just ask. Please don`t ask what the bolts are sticking out the transom as I don`t know but guess that these were done by a previous owner to mount a tailboard or stow the oars. I do have a wooden board that came with the boat and may attach to the boat but i have never used it as not required.

These boats in the fibreglass version are very popular with rowing clubs, community or youth groups or just for recreational rowing. Great for the summer. Maybe able to deliver at £2.00 per mile (one way charge only) but please ask before bidding if this is possible for your location. Good luck.
