Hello. What a surprise to see the "Volga" again. I am a retired boatbuilder who had some dealings with several. They were imported by Herbert Snowball of Shanklin Isle of Wight, and I de-crated and prepared them. I was also responsible for the design, build and fitting of the hard-tops for the Thames water taxis. Constructed GRP they had gull-wing doors and seating for eight passengers + crew. I fitted the tops afloat at Grenwich. I know not the relationship between Springfield and Snowball, but the race number is from the Cowes Torquay where she failed to finish.
