Westerly Centaur - Project Boat

Due to unexpected circumstances I have not been able to carry out this project. This has been relisted due to unrealistic expectations by previous bidders. For the avoidance of doubt, this is a project boat which means it is not seaworthy. It will require dedication and work to bring her back to her former glory. The chief issue is the starboard keel which was torn apart thus leaving a hole and some damage.

The process to repair this can be found on the Westerly Owner's Association website or online elsewhere. There is no engine, instruments, upholstery or sails. Prop and shaft may be available but this has to be traced with the previous owner and the club. Trailer is included but it is a launching trailer and not roadworthy. The reason why there are no photos of the interior is because I live far away and I cannot drive to where the boat is.

These photos were all taken by a nice member of the Humbermouth Yacht Club where the boat is stored. I only saw the interior once and all I remember is it was quite bare but nothing alarming. That being said bear in mind that according to some members of the club the boat was literally sunk at some point. Good thing is Centaurs have interiors mostly moulded in fiberglass so the amount of wood is limited to the bulkhead and cupboards, and perhaps the table. The listing of this boat is quite expensive.

Feel free to go and see the boat before bidding. It is unlocked so you can even gain access to the interior. It is in Grimsby's Humbermouth Yacht Club. Once you have placed a bid and successfully won the auction you will be expected to complete the purchase. Like I said I cannot drive there so completing the purchase means that you will make a payment via bank transfer to the account I will provide in a period of time not exceeding 5 working days since the end of the auction, and then I will issue a bill of sale to the address given by the winner.

At that point it will be up to you to make arrangements with the club to keep the boat in storage there or to move it somewhere else. Cancelling the transaction at that point will incur the bidder a cancellation fee of £10 to cover for the cost of the listing or else the bidder will be reported to classifieds board and a unpaid case will be brought.
