Featured Refinements: Sailing Yacht
This project boat has been abandoned on our company premises (Preston Marina), and we are selling it under the provisions of the Torts (Interference with Goods Act) 1977 in order to recover outstanding storage fees owed to us. The vessel will be sold free from all encumbrances. This vessel is apparently in poor condition and is described here as not fit for purpose. It is sold as seen and described as a renovation project possibility. We are not boat-builders or marine surveyors and are therefore not qualified to enter into discussions as to the extent of work and costs involved in order to return the vessel to being fit for purpose.
We strongly recommend any potential buyers engage an independant marine surveyor on their behalf prior to purchase to conduct a thorough inspection of the vessel. General information about the Westerly Conway class of vessels is readily available with an internet search. They are by design a 36ft, offshore sailing cruiser with an aft cabin. This example is the ketch version. The following information is offered in good faith but no guarantees are made; Engine - unknown diesel inboard.
Described as a non-runner.Sails - at least 4 (but possibly 6) sails stored in bags in forecabin - a glance in the bags suggests they are likely to be in serviceable to good condition)Spars - 2 x masts and booms, currently off the boat, apparently in at least serviceable condition. The cradle that the boat is currently sitting in is included. All other inventory and systems are un-tested and are to be assumed and therefore described as not-working. It is our preference that the new owner removes the vessel and its contents in their entirety from it's current location. This should be within 28 working days of the completion of the sale. No items may be removed from the vessel prior to the vessel's departure.
Lifting of the vessel and the spars onto the buyer's suitable road transport is included in the sale price. WE WILL NOT LAUNCH THE VESSEL INTO THE WATER UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT BOTH A QUALIFIED MARINE SURVEYOR (ENGAGED BY THE VESSEL OWNER) AND OURSELVES DEEM THE VESSEL TO BE FIT TO DO SO. Please note, we do not do boat transport so cannot give indications of costs for transport to your location. Subject to application, discussion and our approval the new owner may be able to keep the vessel in it's current location (the boatyard of Preston Marina, Lancashire).
