Westerly Sailing Yacht

For sale is my lovely Westerly Longbow built in 1977 and maintained and upgraded to a high standard. Unusually for these older yachts she retains the original layout and high quality teak and teak veneer woodwork which is in good condition. Including the full size teak chart table that slides away when not in use and two large, full length hanging lockers. The Longbow uses the same hull as the ever popular Berwick but has a fin keel instead of bilge keels and therefore has greatly improved sailing abilities, particularly to windward, while still retaining a relatively shallow draft of 1.4 Metres. Internally she is clean and attractive with seats and furnishings recovered and matching flooring.
The head lining has been professionally replaced and she retains the original brass clock and barometer. She benefits from replacement engine, a Volvo Penta 2003 28 HP, which has the modified splines. The gearbox was removed and serviced last winter. She is wintered ashore and oil and filters changed and general service and anti-foul carried out annually. Among the recent upgrades are: Simrad Cruise 9 chart plotter (2021) with UK chart set (with older Garmin retained as back up), NASA wind (2021), New VHF radio (2021), 'Wavefront' Tiller Clutch (2021), South Pacific electric windlass (2021) with 'D' type anchor and 30 metres of chain and 30 metres of line, Rudder bushes replaced (2021), stern gland repacked 2021, New 'Aqualube' Cutless bearing (2021), Other upgrades include a Furlex 200S headsail furler, Z Spars boom and lazy jacks with lines led to the cockpit for simple short handed sailing and tiller pilot.
A pair of 2 speed Lewmar 40 sheet winches and two speed Barton G16 halyard winches on cabin roof. Additional winches on mast. Single line reefing with lines led to cockpit for easy single/ short handed sailing. She has been epoxy coated for many years and sparkles when polished. The seacocks are all used regularly and maintained and are mainly high quality Blakes, the bilge is clean and odour free and there is an automatic and manual bilge pump.
She has a large forward cabin with 2 singles or a double berth with infill and made to measure bedding. In the main cabin the table drops down to form a double berth or the seats can be used for up to 3 single berths. As well as extensive storage in lockers in the cockpit there are 2 full height wardrobes/lockers by the fore cabin. The heads is a large compartment with a rebuilt Lavac toilet and the original basin in good condition. The galley has plenty of storage, a cool box (with another under the seating) and original sink all in good condition with original hard wood tops.
There are various 12 volt and USB sockets. In the cockpit there are 2 large lockers, single lever engine control and warning lights, good quality removable compass, gas locker, spare anchor and chain. I have lots of original paper work including the Lloyds certificate of build quality, some original blue-prints and various paper-work. More pics available. Currently afloat and in use in Essex.
