Westerly Tiger Yacht

My yacht was manufactured in 1973 and launched 1974. The original engine was a Volvo MD1A this was replaced with a new MD2010D which is very reliable in starting and operating. Fuel is about 1.5litres per hour at about 2600rpm.Maximum rpm about 3400. She is fitted with a three bladed propeller and sails very well without vices; Steering in reverse is good and predictable at shallow tiller angles. Helm is neutral and seldom becoming heavy.

A slab reefing setup is easily set and she will heave-to when required.She has a masthead sailplan. Sails are old but usable for day sailing and include a cruising chute,Genoa, No 2 foresail and a storm sail. A spinnaker pole , Autohelm1000, Navman DSC VHF radio is linked to a Navman Navigator in the cockpit;a waterproof extenion speaker for the radio in original wrapping has not been fitted. A Spotlight socket is mounted in the cockpit and the light itself included.A NASA Depth sounder and Contest compass in theb cockpit; CQR type anchor and chain. Loads of warps and fenders.

3 boat hooks. A Gaz cylinder in the after locker; and a Whale manual Bilge pump also A Neptune 2500. 2 Burner cooker and grill in gimbals, cutlery and some crockery. Workshop Manuals for the Volvo engine, VHF and navigator(the latter unreadable due to damp elsewhere than the boat }but a pretty intuitive system for the user ;Furling jib gear( Colnbrook). A pack of charts (need correcting if used) Barometer.

Autohelm Fluxgate compass if required. A flushing toilet; Cockpit tent covering, and a stainless boarding ladder fitted astern. 2 horseshoe type lifebuoys and a set of large basic yellow waterproofs,jacket and trousers. First aid kit 'IANA' has been regularly sailed and the engine is run at least once each week. I have ow.ned her since 1984 .

The upholstery is showing its age and large cushions used if staying aboard ;Two small cockpit cushions are included. The boat is afloat on a deep water mooring,on the River Hamble; she draws 4ft 2"(1.3Mtrs) ( The mooring cannot be included in this sale) .
