Posting this on my account for my partner. She says: "This old boat is at the end if its useful life to me. I have lived on Talisman in Southampton for 10 happy years but it has serious leaks - pumps are going all the time to keep the leaks at bay. It is fragile. I am preparing to have it taken apart, but is there someone out there that would like to take it on?

I am not looking for any money. It needs to go soon - gone in the next month or two - and I have a team on stand by to take it apart. But if there is another life for it, I would love to see that happen. If you think you are the person to take it on - drop me a message on here with a phone number / email, tell me a little about yourself and I'll get in touch. By the way, I have a collection of documents about its life as an MTB (Motor Torpedo Boat) in WW2 if you find that interesting.

Hi Kelly, Very sadly I'm not in a position to buy the boat, as much as I'd like to. I run a website called Spitfires of the Sea and I know that the National Museum of the Royal Navy who are preparing an exhibition on these boats. So I might be able to find a good home for the documents you have. If she is broken up, I could advise you on any original historic fittings that might be worth salvaging. Please could you email me asap about this boat, whatever you do please do not have it broken up even if it means selling it at a very low price. This is a piece of history and once its broken up theres no way of getting it back.
