Description:
Hi, Here is for sale our 2008 Woods Strider 25R MK2. The Strider 25R comes from the Strider family of Catamaran Boats. Designed to be sailed single handed but can easily take 4 Crew. This catamaran is the extended version of the older & popular Woods Strider, based on the more cruising oriented late 80’s Club model, but with a larger rig. With the benefits of the GRP cockpit tray, inward facing hatches, shallow 2ft draft (Low Aspect Ratio) keels and proper rudders, yet with the decent sized rig (similar to original Strider sail area), extended transoms (with scoop step), forward crossbeam and asymmetric spinnaker. No through hull fittings and 2 hulls makes for safe, stable, fast and fun sailing.Very cheap to maintain as powered by just a 6hp long shaft outboard with cheap mooring fees as it’s only 25ft long. 25ft long 14ft beam, Very shallow 2ft draft, sleeps 4 persons (2 in each cabin) plus 2 extra persons on deck (pop up tent if required) or a canopy hung over the boom. KitCat Comes with; Laminate fully battened mainsail Good condition JIb sailExcellent condition spinnaker(also spare used Laminate Jib - as spares)Various Fenders2 x anchors,Kids inflatable dinghy to head ashore if need be (only 2 feet draft, so easy to beach etc) Paddle, various mooring lines etc. Powered by a Tohatsu 6hp Saildrive Outboard - 2009 4 stroke engine recently serviced with 12v charger port and large plastic external portable fuel tank. New and can be included - but would need fitting;New Icom DSC VHF radioVHF aerial with wind direction vaneFish Finder with depth TransducerNew Clipper wind instrument & mast head fittings.New 12v LED Mast head steaming lightplus a used good condition 12v Leisure batteryHand held GPS unit (used)12v switch and USB charge unit pointsRope Netting for front bowsprit sections End of April this year 2021, she was washed down and a new fresh coat of Antifoul put on for the season.Front cross beam has just been painted, the rear beam needs doing (again just cosmetic) I have the paint to do so.Also to make improvements i had planned to do as follows... Fit all the 12v electronics purchased as above - possibly with a solar panel to charge electrics. The top roller furling on the fore sail needs taking apart / cleaning possibly bearings replaced (it works ok, but is a little stiff to operate) Very Small (approx 20cms) top deck (above waterline) rear quarter repair needed. It's been sealed and is totally waterproof, just cosmetically it’s suffered a small knock at some point and could do with a fiberglass repair to look nice again. All the running lines on the boat need a good wash as they have been sitting a long while, it wouldn't be that expensive to replace for new. I have recently replaced the Jib furling and running lines.I am Selling KitCat the Catamaran as is...I have priced the boat sensibly with all the above in mind, a lovely fast comfortable catamaran almost ready to go. Put the mainsail and outboard on and she could be sailed/motored away to a new destination. A bargain for someone that wishes to do a little tlc and finish her off with a much greater value once done. Kit Cat is SSR registered and has a Ship radio licence / MMSI number ready for when the new VHF radio is fitted (supplied) The last photo is an old photo to show the sails. Remember this is a 2008 built 25ft GRP built catamaran, not a home build or an older wooden ply/epoxy coated version, excellent bargain at the asking price. It could possibly be altered to mount a small cabin, as there are similar woods catamaran examples on-line.You may also possibly dismantle to move by road, as it looks like it can bolted / un-bolted and put on a flat bed lorry if you wish to move long distance, highly recommend viewing before using this option to satisfy your transportation requirements. I believe It's currently too wide to be trailered as is. Currently Moored on a swinging mooring at Queenborough Harbour in Kent, fees paid until March 22, so no rush to move her. To find out more or arrange a viewing etc, please feel free to Call /text me on Tel. phone
