Orkney Dory 13ft Fast Fishing Boat 40hp Mariner Oil Injected 2 Stroke Plus

ORKNEY DORY Hello and welcome to my advert. You are looking at a restoration of this cathedral hulled dory and done by myself. Of so this is a portfolio example , and i took this project on to show what can be achieved. I spent over 100 hours on this craft and enrolled the help of my 13 year old son as he now shows some interest. Ok so the boat needs no introduction as this and these boats are legendary, i would like to say the boat was stripped right back and not just the numerous layers of paint it had accumulated .
Once the boat was stripped back and i do mean the inside and outside i then went about my options and i wanted to re gel coat not paint or spray so i chose aqua marine turquoise 5018 for the outside which is a color most used by shetland and commonly seen on the Shetland 535 and 570.for the inside i used another shetland color that is cream and Ral color 9001 i think the 2 colors together work exceptionally well and i used a build up of 3 layers. Totally unique and not another in the world im sure,i also did the front hatch and the steering console to add uniqueness. While on the boat i also antifouled her in hard racing black impact. The old engine was removed and i added a more exciting Mariner oil injected 2 stroke 2 cylinder 40hp electric start.This engine is fully serviced with very low hours new everything including filters plugs and impeller ect ect.This engine was tiller and converted to run both.i also added new control cables as well. While rigging i also added a complete Ultraflex steering system that is the heavy duty m66 and with box.
I also decided to add some electricsi rigged up navigation lightsi added a rule 500 litre bilge pumpbrand new pipes and fittings also all conections stainless steel A2 also added a 5 gang fuse board through a stainless buss bar. I also fitted a Garmin gps 551 and not fitted yet will also be a fish finder ect ect .all fittings and engine run through a brand new isolater and a brand new 80 amp battery with all new connections sat in a brand new battery box. The trailer is a fully gavanised branded trailer that is imaculate and just been treated to a Brand new jockey wheel and claspBrand new hitchBrand new winchBrand new spare wheel bracket thats tapped and weldedBrand new tyres and spareBrand new 4 inch wheel hubs and bearing assembly not shown. Please note boat comes with ratchet straps and a brand new light board. Boat is ready to hitch up and tow away.
I also replaced the wood seats as you can see in the pics and i fitted all new cleats. Not show is a collection of bouy's and a good quality fuel tank and brand new fuel lines and connectors.engine is also fitted with a good quality stainless prop.
