Orkney Dory 424

Orkney Dory 424 day boat. Used on the River Thames since being purchased in 2015. Good condition overall but with some marks and scuffs related to age and general use. Ideal for making the most of the river/inland waters with the current engine setup and avoiding expensive mooring costs. Easy to tow and launch.
Boat: - The Orkney Dory 424 is still in production today and is renowned for its superior stability due to its hull design with huge reserves of built-in foam buoyancy for ultimate safety. - Rated as 5 persons (475kg) (Orkneyboats.com) - Front locker storage /seat with cushion - Mid seat bench and cushion - Helm seat bench and backrest with a built-in petrol tank /battery/storage locker with padlock security for when leaving the boat - Helm position with remote steering and throttle controls - Bilge pump to outboard well - Fitted rubber protection to the perimeter of the boat (good in the locks and when mooring) - Stainless steel side rails - Folding bimini top fitted in 2016 for shade which can easily be raised or lowered as necessary - New ropes fitted in 2016 - New fitted cover in 2016 but this is suffering from the effects of the sun and weather Outboard: - Mercury F15 EL (4 stroke) (2004) upgraded in 2016 to suit river usage - Electric key start with kill switch. Forward and reverse gears. - New steering and throttle cables replaced in 2016 - New 12l Quicksilver marine fuel tank (with top guage) and fuel pipes in 2016 - Last routine service in April 2021 by Walker Outboard Services Ltd. The outboard is due its annual service and will not be done prior to sale - Big overhaul and repair work to the outboard carried out in 2017 - Outboard lock fitted to secure the engine to the boat Trailer: - Trailer upgraded to roller coaster type for ease of launching and recovery, bought second hand in 2016 and valued separately alone for over £1,000 - Indespension galvanised roller coaster (unbraked) single axle – 2007 - Rated gross weight 750kgs - Fully adjustable for the most boats under 5m in length and within the weight capacity - New winch fitted in 2016 - Tires in good condition - Detachable light board on extendable fixing points - Wheel clamp and trailer hitch lock for security Message to arrange a viewing.
