Description:
I am reluctantly putting my 27ft sailing boat up for auction as unfortunately I just don't have the time to use her or look after as I would like with a very young family. She also has a fault that I do not have the time to fix (see below). The best bits are that she sails really well, she has cabin heating a fridge, toilet and great electronic systems. Engine needs some work. More photos to follow on Sat.I may do a video tour as well if I have time. She is a Penpol 27. A little known boatyard in Cornwall constructed in Cornwall, UK at Restronguet Creek. She sails well and I've had great use out of her and she is a great, safe boat. She is currently afloat and moored mid-river on the river Dart up near to "Noss on Dart" Marina. The mooring is not included in the sale. She will happily berth 2 in the front V-Berth and and additional 2 in the main cabin. In theory she can sleep 5 but realistically 3 or 4. Due to the problem detailed below, she will need towing off the mooring by the new owner. Local Marinas offer this service should you wish to take her ashore to fix her up.A number of improvements have been made over the last couple of years by me including:Installation of 50w Solar panel and charger to keep batteries healthyReplacement of one of the two leisure batteriesAnnual Servicing of the Volvo Penta engine.New Dodgers with Tama's name and Tiller coverI've started the re-painting of the deck but not completed it (paint supplied)New Garmin multi-function display fitted (for use with plotter)New sea toilet fittedNew engine controls fitted due to old ones corrodingNew fusion stereo system and speakers fittedNew NMEA 2000 network fitted between Plotter, Multi Function Display, Depth, Speed and Temp sensor and VHF radio. New VHF radio with AIS reciever connected to chart plotterNew NMEA 2000 through hull sensor for depth, Speed and Temp. New Wireless Ultrasonic Wind Sensor fitted at mast head (but currently not functioning)There are a couple of issues that all buyers should be aware of:Whilst the engine has been reliable and turns over well, there was some problem with the water intake which led me to remove the exhaust manifole and thermostat housing from the engine head. When doing this two bolts sheared off in the head. (See Photo when uploaded). She needs some TLC from someone who is mechanically happy to do the work or re-power her. The MD7A engine although was running well, is the original and whilst in the winter of 2009 the engine rebuilt (new piston rings, crankshaft bearings polished, new shell bearings fitted, valves reground), the new owner would have to deal with this issue or re-power her. There are a couple of small rainwater leaks that I havent had time to deal with. Neither is a major problem and only cause a small amount of water in the bilge but the new owner will want to rectify at some point. The other features and specification for her are: LOA :8.40mYear:1983Construction: GRPUnderwater profile: FinBerths: 5Engine: 1 x Diesel 13hp, Volvo Penta MD7A (1983) - FaultyBeam:2.74mDraft:1.20mDisplacement: 2,608kg (5,751.0lbs)Headroom: 1.77mEngine Cooled: Sea WaterSteering: TillerDrive: ShaftProp :2 Blade Fixed (+ Rope CutterrCruising speed (approx)5.0 KnotsFuel capacity: 54.6 Ltr (12.0 G) Total - 1 TanksWater capacity: 131.8 Ltr (29.0 G) Total - 1 TanksMainsailOsen - Slab (2002) 2 ReefsHeadsailOsen - Furling (2001)Eastham Maxol cooker Mikuni wet heating system with calorifier (diesel fuel heater provides hot water & cabin heating via 2 matrix heaters) Integrated fridge beneath port side quarter berth 2 burner gas cooker/stoveThe galley is well equipped with a cooker and a fridge. The hot water and cabin heating is supplied by a diesel powered Mikuni wet heating system with two matrix heaters and a calorifier. Please drop me a message if you have any questions or queries or would like to view her if you are seriously interested. The buyer will be required to move her off the mooring within a couple of weeks which I can help with if required but as identified above a tow from a motor boat will be required. Serious buyers only.My telephone number is phone. Feel free to text message, whatapp or classifieds board message me initially.
