Hello, thanks for looking, I hope this is of interest to you. This listing is for the sale of my 1998 Seadoo Speedster jet-boat. It’s powered by two Rotax 787cc, twin cylinder, two-stroke liquid cooled engines each running an independent jet-drive. The engines operate completely independently of teach other i.e., they have their own ignition, cooling, and fuel systems etc. The performance is simply outstanding with a genuine 55mph at wide open throttle.
I can assure you that 220hp is more than enough for a 16ft boat, and you’d need a 300hp Rib to keep up with it. It’s amazing fun. There are lots of videos on YouTube to show you what these boats can do – just make sure you search for the 1998 model as all older and many newer speedster models were less powerful. The engines and impellors are easily tuneable if you want more performance. It’s got an integrated retractable tow pole and additional towing loops on the back.
It’s very safe for water sports due to the lack of props. You can spin the passenger seat around to watch behind you too. There is ample storage on board, including a ski locker in the floor and the seating arrangement is excellent. There is storage for an anchor, personal and safety equipment and a modern VHF radio is fitted too. I maintain it well, it had a new steering cable last year, along with new throttle cables etc.
The engines are flushed after every outing. It’s currently running on pre-mix but can be easy to put back to oil injection. Parts and advice are easy to source for these boats over the internet. The trailer is in excellent condition, it’s a DeGraaff single axle un-braked unit with fresh bearings at the end of last season. DeGraaff make an excellent trailer and there are no issues with it whatsoever.
I fitted a new high-quality winch and jockey wheel last season too.
