1997 Seadoo SPX This is my Seadoo SPX jetski, I bought this as a project and to use but I don’t have the time to put into it, so rather than it sit all winter I am putting it up for sale. • hull is in good condition • Trailer is very good, and tows well – comes with lighting board • New battery -yet to be fitted • Rebuilt engine type 787 (782 cc) – Not even used yet! • Mechanical oil pump removed (an issue if it stops working and can cause the engine to seize) ski will now run with premix The following work has been carried out a Marine engineer: • Checked rebuilt engine to confirm quality of rebuild • Bench tested for compression • Starter motor bench tested • Shaft check for tolerance • Engine installed and aligned • Shaft installed and aligned • Jet pump rebuilt with new wear ring To do At present I have not started the ski up as the exhaust and carbs are still to be fitted, as well as some new hoses need to be purchased (old ones look quite mucky so no point in a rebuilt engine and old hoses etc). Battery to be fitted and then the DESS key needs to be programmed (DESS key included and quoted at £40 to program). The ski will come with the old engine that is in parts due to being stripped down, it was found that it was easier to buy a rebuilt engine than rebuild it myself.

With the exception of the carbs, air filter and exhaust the old engine is looking to be complete, I was going to sell it for parts to claw some money back on this but I haven’t had time to list them. Or if you have knowledge/skills and time im sure this could be rebuilt. The old engine parts come with a complete gasket set for the rebuild. The seat could do with being recovered and a good t-cut and polish.
