I have owned this boat for 5 years now but the time has come to sell as we didn't use her much last year and I suspect that we will use her even less this year. The Searay 268 Sundancer is popular boat in the US (where this boat came from) and has very good accommodation for a boat of this size. They are technically 6 berth although this would entail using the salon as a bed which then restricts access to the galley and heads. They are more comfortable as a 4 berth with a large V berth and stern cabin under the helm. They are well equipped boats and include the following: Large forward V berthSalon table seats 4 and converts to small double bedRear cabin seating or large doubleHeads compartment with basin(hot and cold), porta potty and showerGalley area with fridge under (12v and 110v)2 burner Kenyon alcohol stoveSink with hot and coldBoat is fitted with air conditioning however this is 110v so not currently connected.Shorepower has been converted to 220v with UK style sockets, 3 bank battery charger and hot water heater (can also be heated by engine)2 batteries - one starter and one deep cycle - both new last year.Sony radio/cd with multiple speakersCabin lighting The boat is powered by a Mercruiser 350 petrol engine (boat was re powered several years ago) with an Alpha leg.
The engine runs very well and was serviced at the end of last year with all 3 bellows replaced, new plugs, leads, filters etc. Fuel tank capacity 100 US gallonsFresh water tank 50 US gallonsBennets trim tabs - think one is sticking but will try and rectify before sale. All nav lights including remote forward mounted spot lampTwin wipersNew steering rack and cablePressurized hot and cold water with new expansion tank.Automatic engine bay fire extinguisher plus several other fire extinguishers on board4 new mooring fendersFull Searay winter cover (covers entire boat with several tie down straps - new last year.Cockpit tonneau coverBimini and full canvas camper cover (in reasonable condition)Swim deck at stern with outboard bracket.2 automatic bilge pumpsShower sump with bilge pumpEngine blower Boat has the following equipment installed: New DSC radio - IcomsNew Humminbird fish finder, depth sounder and GPSNew handheld Cobra marine radioLowrance handheld GPS Global mapAll engine instrumentation. The boat is currently out of the water having been winterised last Oct/Nov. It is sitting on an Eeze Loader 4 wheel trailer which has 4 brand new proper trailer tyres. However this trailer, being US type is not legal for use on UK roads for some reason??
The brakes don't work and the hitch has a 2 and 5/16th ball which is included. I have towed the boat (don't tell anyone!) and it towed well but this trailer can really only be used off road or for storage. It is very solid and could do with a coat of paint. Also included is a 4.8 meter Zodiac fast roller inflatable with a long shaft 10hp Johnson 2 stroke outboard. The engine, whilst several years old is actually new as when I bought in a couple of years ago it was still in the box so a bit of a time warp.
The engine is in excellent condition and looks new. The Zodiac was purchased in 1997 so is a few years old but still holds air and works well. It can be rolled up and packed in the car. See Zodiac Futura Mk2 fast roller for details. It can take up to a 40hp outboard but stills goes pretty well with the 10hp Johnson.
Overall the Searay is in good condition for its year but remember it is a 1985 boat. Upholstery is pretty good but as with everything could be smartened up a bit. Everything works and the boat can be used straight away. The boat was anti fouled late last year and will be touched up ready to go back in the water. All the anodes are being replaced this week or next. Aside from the cabin the cockpit area is quite large with a bench seat at the helm for 3 people, 2 rear facing seats behind the helm where there is a cool box fitted and several bottle holders.
There was a stern drop down bench seat but this has been removed and we simply used a couple of folds up chairs. There is a small door to the swim platform which also has a boarding ladder attached. So a complete package ready for the season and for not a lot of money. I am open to offers and also would consider part exchange for a classic car or similar. I would prefer to sell as a complete package i.e.
Boat, trailer and tender with outboard but will consider splitting. I will not price individual items separately so if interested make me an offer. Regrettably these are the only photos I have, taken last summer so I would suggest that anyone interested arranges to view the boat as I don't know when I can get down to the boat to take some more. I don't know why they are showing sideways?? I would never buy a boat without seeing it anyway!
Any questions please ask as sure to have missed something.
