Shetland 2+2 Cabin Cruiser With 100HP Mazda SL35 Diesel Inboard & Volvo Outdrive

Here we have for sale "Prowler", my Shetland 2+2 coastal cruiser, which is currently moored up on the Stour in Christchurch, just past Tuckton Bridge. This is a fabulous little boat that's been very well looked after and was built to last. She has been brilliantly cared for and maintained, with new electrics and an interior renovation. She also has 12v sockets throughout, a fitted gas stove for cooking and running water in two sinks; one in the galley one in the toilet. She also comes with Lowrance depth sounder / fish finder, NASA speedometer and compass.

The engine was fitted a few years back and has only done around 170 hours, which has taken her just over 1,000 miles, so it's barely run in. It's a 3.5 litre naturally aspirated diesel Mazda SL35, which has been professionally marinised and always starts on the button. It puts out 100 horse power and can be modified with a turbo and/or inter-cooler to bump it up another 20 to 40 HP. The engine runs on a separate 24v system to the auxiliary 12v system, so if you leave the lights on the engine will always have power. Having read a little about the engine, it turns out that the Mazda SL35 is very popular in the Australian outback as it pulls like a train and is "bullet-proof", which is pretty handy when you're miles from the nearest billabong... The good bits: - Great engine - Volvo Penta 290 SP Outdrive - Newly renovated and anti-fouled 15X17 Volvo Penta propeller - Original Gel Coat in good condition - Hydraulic trim tabs - Plastimo flexi water tank (under rear double bed) - Stereo / CD player with speakers above and below deck - Plenty of storage under seats and under rear deck - Very dry boat (it has two auto-bilges fitted on a separate circuit, just in case) - New leisure battery fitted July 2018 - Engine oil changed in March 2018 - Outdrive gear oil changed in March 2018 - Main fuel filter changed in March 2018 - New cold air intake filter fitted July 2018 - Anti-fouled March 2018 - Low energy LED bulbs throughout The not so good bits: - Canopy seems to keep most of the rain out but could do with some TLC - The horn doesn't appear to work (I haven't looked into it but should be easy enough to fix) The Shetland 2+2 is a great family starter boat and one of the few boats of its size that has 4 berths all situated under the deck.

The inboard diesel makes it economical and gives it the torque it needs to power through the water and get up on the plane. It's priced to sell and I have tried to show as much as I can in the pictures on classifieds board, but if you would like to see any additional pictures before arranging a viewing please let me know. As she's on the Stour running into Christchurch Harbour, tides govern when she can go out, but viewings can be made by going up river on a tender from Tuckton Island. I'm situated up in Salisbury, but have nautical friends nearby who can help show you the boat. There is no trailer with this boat but trailers can be hired for transportation purposes from the likes of Southampton Trailer Hire.
