Boat Use: Day Boat
I'm selling my Shetland 535, complete with Snipe break -back trailer (with spare wheel), brand new canopy/pram hood cockpit cover and 5hp Mariner engine. The boat is in very good condition for its age (believed to be 1972/1973 ish) having been subject to some refurbishment since purchased. I've fitted new tinted windows and stripped the previous paint job back to gel coat and then given it two coats of international primer and four coats of International Toplac, giving an excellent finish. Within the cockpit, I've painted the insides of the hull and bulkhead, and had added marine plywood fittings to allow plywood cabin sides to be added (similar to a Shetland Family 4). The boat has steering control cables fitted, but no steering wheel, although they are readily available.
The deck of the cockpit needs replacing ideally, as its past its best. The cabin itself needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch, and I've covered the inside of the hull with a 4-way stretch fabric which looks good, however the cabin roof needs re-doing. I have plenty of extra to allow the new owner to complete it. In order to replace the old mushroom vent in the cabin, I've replaced it with a solar powered vent which is an absolute gem of keeping the air moving on a hot day! I've also fitted new stainless fairleads, cleats and a new tinted windscreen, as well as a brand new canopy cover and frame with stainless fittings, the latter being quickly and easily removable if you with to take it away when moored for any period.
The trailer, whilst old, is in good shape. Its had new wheel bearings recently and is galvanised. It can be folded in half to save space when the boat is in the water, and is a very popular choice to match up with the Shetland 535. Also included are:5hp Mariner engine (tiller operated) Fuel tank, 4 way stretch carpet (to match interior)Original teak grab rails Battery BoxA box of spare stainless fittings for the canopy A length of new mooring ropeA new 12v switch boardA 12v exterior spotlight Please study the photos carefully, and ensure that you know exactly what you're buying before bidding. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, and indeed you are welcome to view the boat at an agreed time and socially distanced.
The buyer will need to tow away, or make arrangements to remove the boat within one week of the auction ending. Please ask any questions you may have, and pleade only bid if you can buy.
