With great sadness I am selling my Shetland 570 cabin boat. As a family we have outgrown her.I have owned her for 12 years and she has been a truly wonderful reliable and sea worthy boat which has created hundreds of priceless memories. Powered by a 2010 Suzuki DF70 four stroke outboard (commissioned in 2013) which has been fastidiously maintained no matter what was needed. Fully serviced every year including leg oil and blu-thru. During winterisation at the end of last season the high pressure fuel pump failed and I think contaminated the fuel with tiny bits of debris which clogged the injectors so the pump was replaced and the injectors sent away to be reconditioned, whilst this work was done she was fitted with a new cam belt and fully serviced including the leg.
(Work carried out by Yellow penguin Ltd Suzuki main agent) The engine has covered only 140 hours which is shown on the genuine Suzuki tachometer which also has engine management warning lights and audible alarms. (Hours 100% genuine as the information is stored in the ECU)Last season I fitted a new propeller and went with a slightly bigger one so she raises onto the plane quicker so saving on fuel I have also fitted hydro-foils so she is now on the plane in seconds. She planes/cruises at around 10 knots and is capable of around 22/25 knots. Very very good on fuel when driven sensibly. (£30 will see you all day doing plenty of travelling) she has a Cathedral hull which is great for planing and makes the boat very stable when at rest meaning you can move around with very little rocking.
The rear of the boat is fitted with 2 x rod holders and folding stainless boarding ladders and a newly replaced auxiliary engine bracket. In the rear battery locker also lives the custom made BBQ which locks into one of the rod holders and angles the BBQ safely off the back of the boat over the water. (It takes the 99p disposable BBQ’s from Tesco.) 2 years ago I did a complete re-fit, the whole boat was stripped out and we started with a complete re-wire carried out by Mark Vardy (well known in the Dorset area as the foremost marine auto electrician) all wiring is impossibly neat and very easy to access and negotiate, 99% of wiring and cables is completely hidden whilst remaining very accessible. 2 new batteries were fitted (110Ah leisure and a 110Ah cranking battery) with a split charging system also fitted. The deck area was re-covered with Bentley beige diamond marine vinyl which also carries through to the cabin area.
Recessed LED lighting runs the length of the deck area both sides. The deck area seats a very easy and comfortable 4 but will accommodate 6. All deck seats are in near mint condition and covered in marine vinyl, underneath the 2 rear seats are large storage areas LED lit with back rests, behind the helm seat is a long bench seat (removable) which connects to one of the rear seats turning it into a chaise lounge type seat, under the helm seat is another storage locker and to the port side is a double seat with a huge storage locker which holds the 25 litre fuel tank + 2 spare fuel cans, fishing rods, fenders, boat hook and landing net, fitted on the outside of this locker are 2 x marine stereo speakers. The helm has a genuine Suzuki tachometer/engine management dial and rocker switches for cabin power, deck lights, radio, nav lights and auto bilge pump override. New steering wheel and steering cable replaced 3 or 4 years ago.
The cabin has a split stable door with a 3rd section which lowers into a deck side table whilst also letting more light into the cabin. Port side is a sink with electric variable tap and a large worktop for the 2 burner gas stove, cup hooks and 2 x 12v twist n lock charging points, underneath is a large LED lit locker for fresh water tank and pump, twin burner gas stove, kettle and still has loads more space. Opposite is another large LED lit locker in which we store the toilet and various other things. Next to this is stowage for the adjustable hand made varnished table and in-fills to make the seating area into a large double bed, above this is the control panel with a Bluetooth-USB drive-memory card compatible remote control stereo head unit, digital battery charge indicator, 2 x USB charging points and a twist n lock 12v charging point. Storage under the cabin seats is vast and will stow all bedding, bags, clothes life jackets and much more.
To the front of the cabin is a large shelf on which sits a 12v digital TV with free view, (74 channels achieved 3 miles off shore) behind which is the anchor chain/rope locker. (I rarely use the anchor but think there is approximately 20ft of chain and 50ft of rope with a galvanised Danforth anchor, above is a fully opening escape hatch which I have retro fitted with blue heat reflecting Perspex, inlaid into the hatch surround is LED cabin lighting. The cabin has been re-covered in Bentley beige diamond and the seats are brand new made from memory foam covered in hard wearing navy blue material making for very comfortable seating and sleeping, the curtains and tie backs are matching. Almost all of the metal work on the boat has been replaced with the best quality marine stainless steel including cleats, hinges, rope hooks, bow roller, door clasps, even the cabin door padlocks are marine SS and operate from 1 key. All lockers and cabin ceiling have been painted with special marine paint which stop’s moisture/sweating on the surface.(I have noted a huge improvement since using it) The boat comes on a galvanised twin axle braked De-Graff trailer with a twin speed winch in great condition.
(I had the boat professionally weighted for the trailer so it sits perfectly balanced and is very easy to manoeuvre even single handed) 2 x brand new tyres recently fitted. Just fitted today (26/5/22) is a custom made cover with extra reinforcement at all stress points in heavy duty nylon reinforced marine graded PVC. (This cover will last many years with the occasional wipe over with a UV blocker. I have also given the hull 2 x coats of Hemel anti-foul. Just add fuel and she is ready to go.
Pretty much everything listed in this AD is included in the sale I.E. Fuel tank, fenders, cooker, water tank, free view TV, toilet, kettle, BBQ, solar panel etc… NOT INCLUDED IS - Lowrance hook reveal 7” triple shot fish finder and chart plotter with south coast maps and the Suzuki auxiliary engine. (I am selling in order to upgrade so will probably need these)however I will enter into separate negotiations if the buyer is interested. I have, and included with the boat sale are the bars for the deck area so you could have a pram cover on the boat, I highly recommend this if you are a family or want to sleep on the boat as it doubles the usable space, especially if the weather is not great. I am very proud of this boat and she has never wanted for anything especially in maintenance but she is not perfect and is of an age so please bear this in mind, as for all boats there are ongoing jobs but I can say in all honestly that any jobs needed are of a personal nature and not required in any way.
