Hi this is my boat called "flycatcher" with its Mercury 90hp fourstroke sitting on its twin axle galvanised trailer which is now up for sale. We have had some great trips on this very capable boat including 4 annual trips to the Isle of Man for the TT races, up to 7 nights, and also up and down the Caledonian Canal over 5 nights with 4 persons on board, (2 sleeping in the cabin and 2 on the rear deck under the canopy). This is a very versatile boat whether it's for fishing or cruising or for overnights it's more than capable. There is a twin burner gas stove with grill in the cabin with gas bottle stored in its stern locker. There is also a sink with a cold water auto electric tap, and a 5 gallon fresh water tank.
There are 2 storage cupboards beneath these and also 2 large storage areas under seats/beds. The table is removable and is also used to to make the cabin into a large double bed if required, and a 12v socket and a cigarette lighter and 2 speakers also. It also has a new unused chemical toilet which is stored under its own seat cushion. This was bought new for the 5 night canal trip but was not needed. The hatch beside the cabin door folds flat, outwards, making another table and more space which is really handy when cooking.
The rear deck has as follows:- Full canopy with removable sides with windows, and a zipped rear roll up panel, with alloy frame. There is a tonneau cover for waterproof storage, mooring and towing, 2 removable swivel seats, 2 fixed stern seats on top of battery and gas lockers, a removable engine hood, large fixed 40 GALLONS+ transparent fuel tank, LOWRANCE fish finder, NAVMAN digital VHF Radio with folding arial, Fm/Am Radio with USB Charger and Aux socket and 2 speakers (4 in total), there are the origional extra bench seats to refit if needed, Bilge pump with switch, and 2 x 12v sockets. An auxiliairy engine bracket is fitted on the stern at starboard side. It is a sliding on and off type so makes fitting your auxiliary engine instant at the slipway. I had a 6hp about 30kg on it and I think that was about its limit.
The helm has various instruments including a Mercury rev counter, battery amp gauges, 12v socket, hour counter and solar panel battery charger and horn button for twin horns. There is a fused switch panel which switches on and off various equipment incliding front spot lights and running lights. It has a nice fat leather style steering wheel. There is also a wooden paddle and boat hook and a large anchor with 100ft of galvanised chain and rope in its own storage tray. The 2001 Mercury 90hp Fourstroke was last serviced in April 2017 and has done little hours since, and runs perfectly.
I believe it has done very few hours from new, and has been well serviced and looked after which is obvious to see. The boat will cruise all day at 20mph and pass 30mph easily. It gets on the plane at about 14mph. I calculate it uses about 15 litres of petrol per hour, depending on weight and speed and conditions, which is good for 90HP. There are "ear muffs" included so the engine can be "ran up" from a hose pipe.
The galvanised trailer was bought 6 years ago and is very strong with twin axles with heavy duty leaf springs, and heavy duty rollers. The brakes were hydraulic disc brakes but were removed for corrosion reasons, no surprise there, but can be refitted if you wish. The tyres are all excellent. There is a heavy duty hand winch fitted for an easy recovery and also a spare wheel with a new tyre. The ball hitch coupling is lockable.
This boat is in very origional condition which is quite rare to see. It's been stored in a shed since iv owned it. It has its origional gel coat top and bottom with many scuffs and marks due to age and use. The seat cushions have their origional zip covers and are still very tidy, and the origional fixings are still being used. I have used this boat many times single handed and it is very easy to launch and recover, mainly due to the heavy duty rollers on the trailer.
The boat simply just rolls off with a push, and you only need 10 inches of water at the stern to launch so the trailer can stay connected to the tow vehicle, which is not near the water. I have various paper work and instructions for the boat and engine and equipment which the new owner will find very usefull. The cabin door is lockable with 2 keys and there is an escape/sun hatch fitted in the cabin roof. Port hole type cabin vents are also fitted on each side, also curtains with wire rails. "FLYCATCHER" IS A SUPER BOAT FOR THE SEA, LOCHS AND RIVERS, EVEN WHEN CONDITIONS ARE POOR IT IS VERY STABLE AND HANDLES WELL.
THESE BOATS ARE VERY STRONG AND BUILT TO LAST THIS YEAR ON RETURN FROM THE ISLE OF MAN, IT WAS FORECAST TO BE FORCE 4 OR 5 (IT WAS SOMETIMES MORE LIKE A FORCE 6). NORMALY IT IS A 2 HOUR CROSSING BUT IT ACTUALLY TOOK 3.5 HOURS. THE WAVES WERE HIGHER THAN OUR HEADS BLOWING FROM PORT SIDE AND WAS DROPPING THE BOAT AT 30 DEGREES INTO HOLES THAT WERE DEEPER AGAIN, SO BUY WITH CONFIDENCE. THIS BOAT IS VERY CAPABLE, VERY STABLE, AND TOTALLY RELIABLE. THE LARGE FITTED FUEL TANK HOLDS ENOUGH FUEL TO GET THERE AND BACK FROM THE ISLE OF MAN WITHOUT FILLING UP ( up to 10 hours running time ) AND IT HAS 2 FUEL PICKUP PIPES SO YOUR AUXILIARY ENGINE CAN BE CONNECTED ALSO.
IT ALSO DOUBLES AS A STEP AND A TABLE AND ANOTHER SEAT, OH AND IT IS TRANSPARENT SO AT A GLANCE YOU CAN SEE HOW WELL YOUR FUEL IS LASTING. ANY QUESTIONS JUST CALL ME ON phoneViewing is highly recomended . CASH ON COLLECTION I CAN DELIVER AT YOUR COST, JUST ASK. THIS BOAT IS READY TO USE AND ENJOY AND PRICED TO SELL THANKS FOR LOOKING
