Engine Manufacturer: Honda
Boat Type: Cabin Cruiser
Year of Registration: 1983
Our very popular Shetland 570 Kestrel cabin cruiser is sadly up for sale. We have thoroughly enjoyed owning this boat and have many happy memories using it up and down the Thames. Here are the main details... Shetland Kestrel 19 – Named Honeybee II Manufactured 1983 with a GRP Hull and onboard portable toilet in the cabin. Length 5.70 m Beam 2.10 m – purchased by us in early 2005. The Boat Safety Scheme Certificate expires 19th August 2024.
The boat is equipped with a Honda BF20 LRTU outboard with a long shaft with electrical power tilt, it is in great condition, very low hours and ready to use. It was purchased new on 23/03/2007. A new hood was purchased in 2008 and the Perspex windows were also replaced around this time. It has a Quicksilver 12 litre portable fuel tank with quick release which was acquired in 2020. The Carbon Monoxide alarm and Fire Extinguisher were updated in 2020.
The bottom half has been painted and re-antifouled so the next owner will not need to carry this out. I am going to describe our boat as a very usable project based on the fact that the carpet tiles on the boat, need to be cut to shape and stuck to the floor, I have not carried this out in case the next owner decides they want a different product or look but they will stay with the boat anyway. There is also some work to carry out within the cabin, for example headlining, seat/cushion post for right side seat, carpet tiles (on board like the others) we had taken the cupboard one side out so that we could extend the bed arrangement as one of us was over 6ft. Also, a small amount of investigation will be needed to see why the light switch is not turning the lights on, it is probably something simple, possibly due to it not being used over the last year and a half, I have not investigated. It does not come with the trailer pictured so you would either need your own, however moorings may be available if you contact the boat yard which is Hambleden Marina, Mill End, Henley on Thames. This is obviously not a new boat but for it's age it is in my opinion in good condition compared with may I have seen out there which are being advertised at a much higher rate than what we have set as our starting price, is a great little winter project to get it exactly how you would like it or simply use as is.
You are more than welcome to arrange a visit to view it, and this is encouraged, especially as It will be sold as seen and despite what it reads in the listing full payment prior to collection will be necessary, for some reason we were not able to remove the cash on collection option so please note..it will be full payment prior to collection. As previously mentioned, moorings may be available at the boatyard which is along a lovely stretch of the Thames.
