*Relisting as the last buyer didn’t pay and didn’t return emails. So Payment now on PayPal only please then we can arrange collection, thanks : ) Sadly it’s time to sell our little Shetland 18' boat; We’ve had the Aultra since 2016 and she’s been a brilliantly reliable little boat but our trailer and more recently our tender have been nicked and she’s stuck out on the Blackwater and needs a new owner. *There is no trailer, no awning and no tender, this is just the boat and outboard engine for sale. Last time we took her out was this October over to the Green Man with no problems and yesterday (November 8th) I kayaked out and covered up the engine and strapped a tarp over to keep the birds off. She’s filthy and hasn’t had any TLC for ages but she’s an original Shetland so she’s really well made and sought after, Shetland really know how to make boats).
She just needs a good jet-wash and some fresh paint and the door catch needs a new spring but the engine is pretty new and recently serviced, starts first time with a bit of choke. Ideally, she needs a proper boat cover and taken off the water for the winter. We’ve had some great fun with the kids fishing and messing about on the water but the main reason for selling is the kids are older now and we live too far away now to get to Mersea regularly. We paid £5000 for The Aultra in 2016 from Andy Seedhouse in Woodbridge but she was mint then and had an awning cover etc. But now we just want a quick sale.
Any questions just ask, she’s ready to collect on the Blackwater at West Mersea Island, Colchester, Essex. The last photo was taken a couple of summers ago, she’s scruffier now but does clean up really well with a jet hose. *I don’t know much about the engine other than it’s a low CC Yamaha Mercury 4 stroke and has been recently serviced and starts first time with a little choke, although the battery is getting flat and needs a recharge. But the engine can be electronically lowered and raised from the water so the prop is nice and clean. I would add that the engine is really for river use, not ideal for open sea.
The boat is in the water and can be collected on the buyers trailer at high tide via two or three slipways at West Mersea, I’m happy bringing my kayak to get to the boat and drive it in.
