Shetland Family 4 - Boat Engine & Trailer, Sought After Boat In Great Condition

The Shetland Family Four is a perfect all round small boat, good for fishing and river trips and for family adventures, This is a much loved boat, it has been looked after and improved. The engine was serviced last week and it has been antifouled in the last two weeks with a high quality treatment. This boat is ready to immediately enjoy some time on the water.The engine is a Mariner EFI 60HP 2009 and has been lightly used and always looked after. After each use it has been flushed. This engine is efficient and cruises very quietly on rivers, lakes and exploring harbours etc, but has the capability to comfortably plane at 20+ knots.

It currently has a 12" prop on as we have found this to be the most efficient size. We do have an 11" and 14" as well. This year we have had the electrics rewired professionally including a new fuse box, and added a DSC VHF radio, a Lowrance Fish Finder and have also fitted a new houdini hatch. We have also replaced/recovered the internal cushions and curtains.

Last year we had a new awning. The boat has a 2 ring gas cooker and a sink and for a small boat a good amount of storage. Internally the V seating and table converts to a double berth and in the cockpit a further table converts the bench seating to another double, for making overnight or longer trips possibly for a family or 4 people - if you are happy living at close quarters. There is space for a portapotti too.There is also a platform at the back with a boarding ladder.The boat is equipped with all you need to set sail, a danforth anchor, mooring ropes and fenders and 2 petrol tanks to enable longer trips.The SBS braked trailer SBS R2/1300EL with Flushing kit is in excellent condition and trails well. It is very easy to launch and recover.The only further improvement that we would have made is to recover the external cushions - we had a quote for about £350 this year.
