Shetland Greyline 538 Boat With Twin Axle Trailer & 15hp Yamaha Outboard I have just spent the last 5 or 6 weeks locked away in my workshop while in lock down bringing this lovely Greyline 538 back to its former glory, I have spent hours & hours doing it up but have enjoyed most of them. I have lost count of the price of boat paint I have spent on it in all but would say it was up to £500 worth Greyline 538 Interior Took out everything that was in it and washed down and repainted floor, walls & Roof (3 coats), replaced all timber and painted, fitted a removable table that can be converted in to a bed if needed Greyline 538 exterior Steam cleaned, washed then steamed cleaned again, polished the hole outside.Scraped & sanded the under hull and repainted (4 coats)Painted a few fittings that where looking a little tired Canopy I haven’t done a lot with it as when I started the boat refurb it was cold and raining so I have just given it a little power wash before putting back on and replaced the bungee fasteners at the bottom. It’s good condition but I’m sure a good steam clean would get it a lot better Yamaha 2 Stroke 15hp Outboard Electric Start With New Steering System I have rubbed and sanded it down and given a few coats of metal boat paint to freshen it up a little and also added some new decors to it to finish it off.After a couple of tries the Yamaha started up but wasn’t long before I noticed it wasn’t sucking and throwing the water out, so after a little help from FB friends and YouTube I soon realised it needed a new impeller, which I have replaced and once started up again it pumped water really well and goes in gear etc. (I do have a couple of videos of the outboard running taken today 24.03.2021 so please ask if you want to see them as this saves me having to keep putting it into a barrel of water every time someone wants to view) not 100% sure on age of it so would advise on a service as out of everything I have done to the boat the outboard is over my headThe previous owner a couple of days before I collected fitted a brand new steering system to the outboard TrailerTwin Axle Boat trailer in good condition, I’ve power washed it off and painted wheels to freshen up and also added 4 tie down points to make strapping the boat on far easier than before. I have made up a light board with extra long lead for buyer so only need some straps and number plate I have tried to do a little home work on these boats and it looks like there is only a hand full of these around now and according to the boat plate this was the 7th one made as the plate reads 007 so hoping that makes it a lot better for people Compared to when I bought it a couple of months ago the boat is in very good condition now and ready for the water, there is some bouys, rope, anchor, fire extinguishers & brackets, fire blanket, instruction for new steering system and petrol hose boxIf I was to charge by the hour for all work done it would owe me £1000’s but it wasn’t about that for me it was all about trying something new and trying to refurb a boat ready for someone to enjoy this season when times are hard and the world is in a place where no one knows what will happen so wanted to give a little back.As for pricing this wasn’t easy as wanted it to be affordable but get my money back for everything bought and a little of my time doing it.

The boat is collection only of course from Everingham, York which is between York and Hull in a small village & collection needs to be within 5 days of endingOf course the boat,trailer and outboard is sold as seen with no warranty as I am no boat engineer, just a DIY’er who enjoys a new project in these lockdown times Prefer Bank Transfer as payment but also cash if easier (no PayPal) PX POSSIBLE try me but mainly trailers, quads, golf buggies, poss another boat, etc but try me as can only say no as this might help out with price to make it more affordable As I said I have a couple of videos of the outboard running in neutral and gear which I can send to anyone who wants to look (just send me your number or email address) I have taken the videos today (24.03.2021) this is so I don’t have to put the outboard in a barrel of water every time someone wants to come and view as it’s not a 2 min job as you can imagine.
