Boat Use: Fresh Water
Boat Type: Cabin Cruiser
Engine Manufacturer: Honda
Year of Registration: 1983
Here is a fun, useable Shetland 570 Kestrel 19 – Named Honey Bee II Manufactured in 1983 with a GRP Hull, Has an onboard portable toilet, the electrics need a little work for lighting, possibly because someone has broken the light on the front while it's been sitting there and this may be to blame, I do not think it will be a complex fix. I believe the Length is 5.70 m Beam 2.10 m – purchased by us in early 2005 Boat Safety Scheme Certificate expires 19th August 2024. The boat is equipped with a really good Honda BF20 LRTU outboard with a long shaft with electrical power tilt and remotes and has done very few hours. A new hood was purchased on 31/10/2008 for £1020 + VAT Quicksilver 12 litre portable fuel tank with quick release acquired in 2020 Carbon Monoxide alarm and Fire Extinguisher updated in 2020 but will need to check to see if they are still present Cabin with V shaped cushioned seating that can convert to a double berth with the infill cushions. Storage to port and chemical toilet to starboard.
Opening roof hatch. The engine has been briefly run up and checked over while out of the water, as previously mentioned, It has the bonus of the electric tilt which is operated from the throttle. The boat has been stored out of the water since 2020. We would consider selling the boat for a very sensible price, without the engine, throttle and fuel tank if someone wanted to fit their own. As you can see there are no tiles on the floor, there used to be floor tiles but they were worn and an odd colour that did not go with the blue seats so we intended to change them for the carpet tiles shown (will come with the boat) The cabin would look better if the biscuit coloured lining was replaced, we never got around to doing this or the ceiling but there is some material, I think possibly enough for the roof.
The toilet is under the seat where the table is leaning. It retains its storage cabinet to the left as you enter the area, there used to be one on the right side but it was removed with the idea of making a wooden frame to extend the length of the sleeping area ( still have the stainless steel sink from that side) You could smarten it up without too much effort, even if all someone did for now was put the floor tiles in throughout the boat, this would transform the look. It also has another cushion back rest that needs to be repaired and mounted on the right side, you can see to the left in the photo. There is no trailer for sale with the boat, it is currently sitting on the boat yard’s trailer which is not roadworthy. You would need a trailer or hire someone who can collect it, you would also need to organise craning and collection with the marina, this would be simple and they are very friendly and helpful.
I would pass on the details to the winning bidder and inform the marina of the change of ownership for you and pass on your contact details. It would be necessary to organise collection fairly promptly with myself and the boat yard after purchase otherwise you may incur storage fees. It is a great project boat and we have thoroughly enjoyed many trips along the Thames over the years we have owned it. I think I have 2 sets of keys like the set shown in the photo. It is situated at Hambleden Marina RG9 3AY Payment would need to be made prior to collection and it would be your responsibility to pay for craning and the removal of Honey Bee from the Marina.
