Ravel is a Big Bolero 35.5 (ft) built 1980 and currently berthed in a marina in Southampton. I have worked away over the last year and have now realised I can't see megetting out in it much this coming year due to a change of plan.We used her last year when not in lockdown around Southampton to Cowes and Solent area. Very spacious inside, is also very beamy at 11.3ft wide. There is a forward twin V berth, port head room with wash basin, starboard zippable closet, wide main galley with 4 berths, rear starboard twin berth, rear port berth with bunk above, starboard chart table and instruments.Kitchen with rock n roll gas cooker/oven sink. Various stowage areas throughout.
She is sold as seen, without survey, no returns on this listing, hence low starting price. Very solid boat with many additions and upgrades over its life which wereaimed at offshore racing until the last couple of years where it has beenused as a liveaboard and a cruiser. It has had a recent overhaul of thenavigation systems with many new additions in 2020 (B&M Zeus 9, AIS class B,offshore 4G boat range extender, autopilot, wifi phone tablet extender, depth, wind speed, wind angle, water speed). 2020 GB C-Maps .Engine is great, never fails to start (Volvo Penta) and looks/behaves likenew (was bought new in 2003). Saildrive gearbox is faultless too.
Fuel tanklooks to have been replaced within the last few years. Mains electrics and 12V systems. No hull leaks anywhere and all stopcocks are recently replaced/good order. There is rain water getting in by the mast which I have not been able to resolve - it collects in the bilge by the mast and I just clear it out once a month. The windows are crazed from UV and age, but have replacement polycarbonate sheet to cut new ones from. I imagine there is a bit of surface mould in places inside from wintering in the marina.
The rigging is mostly good in the vital areas but is tired in some areas and may want attention soon but is useable as is. There is one cosmetic roof panel missing (is bare fibreglass). It wouldn't take much to make it bluewater capable which was my original intention. She comes with around 10 other sails too which hark back to its racing days. Main sailhas been converted to enable easy raising from the cockpit (slugs and lazy jacks).Forward sail is furling.
There are 8 winches that are all brilliant, some are two speed too.It is possible to sail single handed from the cockpit (all lines lead to cockpit). All branded stuff,Lewmar mostly. It comes with a boat load of accessories including a tender and recent wifi TV. Many life preserversand life jackets, lines, ropes, charts, flags and pulleys. She can remain where she is until the end of April.
Further extensions would need tobe arranged with the staff there. Things being what they are, there is plenty ofspaces available and is accessible irrespective of tide. You are bidding to buy, no exceptions. Prompt payment expected after auction end.On 08-Feb-21 at 19:12:17 GMT, seller added the following information: Apologies, renewal date for the marina berth is the start of April, not the end of April as stated above.
