Avon Searider 4.7m SR4.7 Adventure RIB + Yamaha 60hp Outboard on Road Trailer Avon SR4.7 'Adventure' Very reluctant sale of my 4.7m Searider. These are the best sub 5m RIB you can buy - if you can find one as they are quite rare! This example is an 'Adventure' spec so you still get the famous deep vee, flooding Searider hull - but without the commercial look. She has the standard 2 person jockey console with plenty of deck space behind for gear and room for a rear bench seat to be fitted if desired. With the current propeller she tops out at 31 knots with 2 passengers.
She will do 27knots with 5 large adults on board, and will pull an adult in a donut well with 4 passengers in the boat. She feels safe at sea and takes rough water very well. Fuel consumption is good, there are two 25 litre tanks which has always been plenty for a day out. Boat and engine were new in 1999. The tubes are hypalon, there are no patches, leaks or repairs and they hold air perfectly.
The only thing to note on the tubes is a small rope abrasion on the top of the tube at the bow, but this is purely cosmetic. The hull is all in original gel coat and has not been painted or antifould. It is in good condition with some chips and scrapes on the chines, but nothing major. The outboard is a Yamaha 60hp Autolube. This is the 3 cylinder model, famous for its reliability.
It is electric start with power trim and tilt. Everything works as it should do, gears select nicely, pumps water well, starts up easily on the key and is very powerful. Cosmetically it is good for it's age. All original paint. Some marks and light corrosion but overall very good.
The boat is sat on a very good 750kg Brenderup roller trailer. Being a light outfit there are no brakes to worry about. The tyres and wheels are new and bearings are excellent. I've towed it hundreds of miles with no issues. The trailer has a very neat trailer board arrangement.
It tows very well, I've not weighed it but would guess total weight inc trailer at 600 to 650kg. This means it can be towed behind pretty much any car and can be launched and recovered single handed with ease. I've used the boat in Devon, Cornwall and Scotland. It is my second SR4.7 and I know I will regret selling as they take ages to find. The boat is fitted with a very useful Garmin 551S chartplotter including UK charts.
Some of saftey kit in the photos is not included. I am happy to answer any further questions. Viewing is reccomended. Boat is located near to Stratford-upon-Avon. It is currently in Scotland until the 24th October.
